Bib Dode Pasha built a house where he could host the members of his tribe during his stay in Shkodra. This house was inherited after his death by his son, Preng Bib Dode. It was Prenga who built the tower in 1910, entrusting it to the well-known architect Kol Idromeno. The tower is known as that of Gjon Markagjon since it was bought together with the house by Markagjon himself. He lived with his family in this property during the winter months, as he spent the summer months in Orosh. In 1944, the tower was confiscated by the communist regime and turned into their headquarters. They destroyed every piece of furniture and valuable objects, and most of the family faced prison and internment camps. Markagjon's house became not only their headquarters, but also a school for girls. This lasted until 1991, when the family was finally released and returned to their dilapidated home. From that moment, they tried to restore it.
